Employee Screening

1. Do you conduct employment histories for personal reference to help aide with the completion of job applications or composition of resumes?

No. We only provide employment screening for verifiable business purposes.

2. Does AmerUSA provide job referrals or job counseling skills?

No. We are not in the business of helping individuals seek any type of employment. We also do not assist individuals with job interview skills or provide resume services.

3. What is the individual price for a social security match and an address verification?

Our standard employment report is our signature service because it offers our customers security in the screening process of prospective employees. All of the investigative procedures i.e., social security match and address verification, are required in order to succinctly summarize the credit worthiness of an individual applicant and verify his or her identity. Since this is a specialized service, our Employment Insight remains as a package.

4. What information is required in order to conduct an Employment Insight?

We require the applicant's first and last name, social security number, and current address (including street number, city, state and zip code).

5. Is the applicant's date of birth necessary for a criminal background check?

Yes. Since the first order of index in finding a criminal record is by name, the only guarantee of establishing an exact match is by corresponding it with a date of birth. Although some courts will release criminal records without a date of birth, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these reports. Furthermore, some jurisdictions require a date of birth before a criminal record can be released to our independent researchers. We strongly recommend providing a date of birth to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of results.

6. Do employers need to provide AmerUSA with a signed consent form for employment investigation?

Yes. A consent form for employment investigation is required to be on file with the employer for two years.

7. Do you provide education verification?

No. We will verify a professional license (i.e., Doctor, Lawyer, Insurance Agent, FAA, etc.), but we do not verify an applicant's education.

8. Will AmerUSA verify references on behalf of employers?

No. It is the responsibility of an employer to contact the references of a prospective employee in order to verify his or her skills and quality of character.

9. How many employers and/or years will an Employment Insight include when it verifies an applicant's work history?

Only an applicant's current/last employer is verified.

10. Can I screen my existing employees?

Yes. The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows employers to routinely check its workforce, but please consult with your legal counsel if you decide to fire an existing employee based upon any information obtained from public records and consumer credit files.
