Criminal
Records
We have compiled a list of answers to
the most commonly asked questions. If you are unable to find a suitable
answer to your question, one of our customer service
representatives will be glad to assist you. 1.
How far back can a record be searched? The
Fair Credit Reporting Act permits AmerUSA to search back seven years. 2.
Is there a charge if no criminal record is found? Yes.
Our service fee is based upon the time and effort it takes to physically
search court records. Obviously, we cannot produce results for someone who
does not have a criminal record. Also, if you mistakenly request us to
search in the wrong jurisdiction, you will still be charged our normal fee.
Because of the nature of criminal record investigations, we cannot issue
refunds. Please make sure you know where want to search. 3.
Can I order multiple searches on a person? Yes,
but a separate order must be filled out for each search. 4.
Are there discounts for large-volume searches? Yes,
if you conduct more than 50 searches per month, you may contact us for a quote. 5.
What kind of search should I order? Depends
on what your are looking for. Most crimes are committed at the county level,
although, crimes involving aviation, insurance fraud, IRS, etc., are
committed at the federal level. For a complete search in a particular
jurisdiction, we recommend ordering both - you never know what crimes may
have been committed. 6.
I got a search back that said clear. I KNOW there should be a record. Did
the crime occur more than seven years ago? Was it the proper
county/jurisdiction? May it have been in a municipal court? We do not search
municipal courts. 7.
Can I order a search on someone without their consent? See
FCRA guidelines. 8.
What kind of accuracy do you guarantee? We
only guarantee that this report is what exists in the docket of the
jurisdiction searched. 9.
I found a record where their should not be one. What do I do? We
only offer searches. To dispute a record, contact the jurisdiction directly. 10.
How long does it take to search? Because
we physically search the courthouse, it may take up to 5 business days to
receive your results via fax or phone. Please allow additional time for US
mail. Free
registration and membership. FAQ
